GMAT prepration guide for 750+

I am Illyas, I started preparing for GMAT in the early may of 2010. I am looking fo a management education in US, Canada etc. I faced a lot of difficulty in getting information firstly- about the test, then about the university and colleges to apply. Thus, this blog would be helpfull to those who are looking out for information about GMAT test, the preparaion tips and material for GMAT.

Now that you have made up your mind to appear for GMAT it becomes very necessary for you to you to immediately understand the amount of effort and dedication required to get through the GMAT. Every one would suggest you buy a guide-prepare and appear for the exam. However, this type of approach would be of little help. Your first and foremeost task would be to familiarize with the various areas in which you would be tested and the duration of the test.

The GMAT (Graduate Management Admissions Test) consists of two multiple-choice sections (Quantitative and Verbal) and an essay section called the Analytical Writing Assessment (AWA).
Quantitative Section:
37 questions
75 minutes
Problem Solving Questions (approx. 24 Questions)
Data Sufficiency Questions (approx. 13 Questions)

Verbal Section:
41 questions
75 minutes
Reading Comprehension (approx. 14 Questions)
Sentence Correction (approx. 13 Questions)
Critical Reasoning (approx. 14 Questions)

Essay Questions (Analytical Writing Assessment):
The GMAT CAT begins with the two AWA questions. For each of these sections, you have thirty minutes to type an essay into the computer using a simple word-processing program. The essay sections are administered first, but the Quantitative and Verbal multiple-choice sections can appear in any order.
